| Concordia Lutheran School
was established in 1996 and exists to "provide the
children and young adults in the greater Salem area with
a quality, Christ-centered education in a loving, caring
atmosphere; preparing each individual to achieve his or
her highest potential for service to God and others".
It is registered with and recognized by the State of
Oregon Department of Education, and has a maximum classroom
size of 20 in grades 1-8 and 18 in kindergarten.
Concordia has traditional structured classrooms with
a variety of individual, small, and large group activities;
individual and cooperative learning, and goals that
are based upon the needs of individual students. The
school uses a combination of basal readers, whole-language,
and a strong phonics component in our reading and writing
curriculum. The School uses positive reinforcement as
the preferred method of discipline, verbal warnings,
"time-outs," and parent conferences if necessary.
Concordia communicates with parents via teacher notes,
a monthly newsletter, and Parent Club minutes.
The school admits students of any race, color, national
and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs
and activities generally accorded or made available
to students of the school. Concordia does not discriminate

in administration of its educational policies, admission
policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic
and other school-administered programs.
